Extended Rest and Dailies

Uh...that's what I said. You get your dailies back after an extended rest but you can only take advantage of that once in a day. Am I taking crazy pills here?

Nope. I'm taking "Didn't read the whole post and jumped to conclusions pills." :o

D'karr I'm on your side. :)

All I'm saying is the "XP Experience "What you should know" sheet that I downloaded from Wizard's web site....it says nothing about an extended rest being once per day. Thats where the arguement stems from. The DM rules for XP have once a day and maybe even the original sheets used at XP (which I have never seen as unfortunately I could not attend) may have had once per day....but the Wizards web copy does not. Thus the confusion and the sides of the arguement.

I am completely on the once per day side, which I am 99.9% positive is what the official rules will appoint as scripture. BUT until someone like Rouse or Mearls posts that this is 100% I will allow other people (who will house rule the once a day out if they want) their opinions.

Given that Mouseferatu was a playtester, and was given leave to say at least a few things about the edition, I'm 99.99% certain, too. :)

Personally I like the idea of an extended rest being limited to 6 hours only and not worrying about the once per day bit. This means you don't have to worry about timing issues, or waiting around for the rest of the day doing nothing.

I don't have a problem either with all your HP returning after 6 hours and therefore you could have several full expeditions in a day. I've always followed the last hit is the real damage concept of HP and therefore it's easy to reconcile the super-healing feel of this new rule simply representing the recovery of fatigue and bumps and scrapes.

I'm fairly certain that the power scheme alone will be enough to keep people pushing forward for the better part of the day, but if it doesn't, you might not want to give people the option of "sleep, adventure, sleep, adventure, sleep, adventure, sleep" every 24 hours and 15 minutes.

That's kinda the reason why they instituted this rule in the first place.
