The first episode of the second series was ecellent - Orlando Bloom making a complete fool of himself, convinced people prefer him to Johnny Depp ("Willy Wonka? Willy Wanker, more like!"). He's a lot like Ross Kemp who believed his "hard man" press in the first series - Bloom is constantly citing polls in crappy magazines which put him at the top of various "sexiness" charts.
Gervais' character is no longer an extra - his sitcom is being made. The comedy there revolves around his idea of what his sitcom should be, and the BBC's desire to make it appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Maggie's back. I was never that keen on the character, though. More of the same from her.
