[Extremely OT] Kukris

While kukris do come in a variety of sizes I have never seen one as small as a dagger. The whole point of a kukri is to be a chopping weapon. Which doesn't work well if it's so small it lacks the mass to chop successfully. The smallest kukris I've ever seen are about 10" blades. Which falls outside the range of dagger to my mind. Additionally a dagger is primarily a thrusting weapon. They lack the blade width and mass of a kukri. There could be kukris that are as small and light as daggers. But I've never seen one and I call their effiencency into doubt.

I agree with the Small 1d6 19-20 2x version.

Makes your blood run cold don't it? ;)

Gurka's had regimental Kukries. These were bigger and used to behead a cow! at the start of the new year.

Also there is a special way of drawing the kukri. If you dont do that youll cut yourself, as the scabard is half open because of the curve in the blade.

If the Kukri is actually a chopping weapon, then it might be more accurate to portray it as a small 1d6 20/x3 crit, since that is what other chopping weapons (axes) get. As an exotic weapon some might want to increase its threat range (on the "curved blade" shtick) so it was 19-20/x3, but that would be breaking new ground which is probably best left unploughed...

Cheers
