Fabricate spell

Okay, you can convert 1 cubit foot of steel per level into an item. You need to make a craft check. Lets assume we have a 10th level caster with enough steel to make 3 swords (say 9 cubit feet). Can he make multiple items with one casting?

Going to hijack with another fabricate question

Along these lines with fabricate...

Can I make a masterwork sword with the fabricate spell. I believe you need to make a craft check and if I roll hign enough will it be masterwork??

Thanks

Yes, it will be masterwork. I was making a high-level dwarven smith. She's only 9th level, but with skill focus, int mod, max ranks, mw tools, she has a +24 to smithing. When she uses fabricate she'll have masterwork weapons every time. She's a transmuter too so she can cast it 3 times per day. Unfortunately it looks like you can only craft one per casting. Oh well.

Sounds neat. Dwarf cleric in my group with the craft domain has this spell. BUT...
I don't think the masterwork tools actually help you out at all. Fabricate you just point at the material and *Poof* and you get a chair, door, sword, whatever. I don't think having the ultimate hammer of smithing helps you one bit cause you ain't using it when you make the item. Just my thought.

Hey, 3 mw swords per day, that's not bad! Think about how long it would take you to actually forge these things! ;)

Hmmm... I just counted the number of fabricates my arcane trickster (17th level) could cast per day... 20! Now that's quite a bit! Of course she doesn't have any ranks in craft (weaponsmith), so the swords would be rather crude, but she can make fine bows, clothes and jewelry this way! :D

Bye

She's an NPC in the oldest age category with 2 str, I guess she should have started with more then 8! :)

Her name is Grunelda (see my pickpocket thread) Every day she learns a pair of extended bulls strengths, and 3 Fabricate's. It's only an NPC and who knows how magic works so I'll just include her tools. +12 ranks, +5 int mod, +3 skill focus, +2 dwarven racial bonus, +2 masterwork.

She did it with the tools for 500 years before she could cast fabricate and she'll keep doing it until the Founder takes her. Don't question her methods young man!
