Facing in 3E, 3.5E and other

What sort of facing would you prefer for D&D?

  • 3.5E facing: Abstract squares.

  • 3E facing: Abstract rectangles.

  • Strict facing: Directional rectangles.

  • I'm not bothered.

I prefer exact facing. I haven't used it yet in 3e but I perfered it that way from previous editions.

I'd allow people to turn around if someonejsut ran aorund and tried to get behind them. But i'd lprobably et a tumble get behind them without them turning if the tumble beat sme check. It would sort of be like a bluff but with some movement.
