Damn you!

I postponed my Dragonstar Campaign until I got Arsenal now I have to wait again for Factory!

Grrrr.

So when is it due? :)

Release date, compatibility,

FACTORY will be released in March 2003.

I don't currently have plans coordinate my powered battlesuits with WarMech or d20 Mecha. It is something worth looking in to, perhaps.

or post a web errata on how to convert it from one system to the other. That in and of itself would make me like this product even more..

Is there anything in this book (or in Arsenal) that precludes the items from being used in a tech only game, rather than a technomagic game?

Thanks,

tech only

There is nothing in Arsenal or Factory that precludes the items from being used in a technology-only game, as opposed to a technomagic game. In fact, I've written a little blurb for Factory that gives advice on how to use the items without a magic cause.

Basically, you only need to assume that each weapon/item's effect is the result of technology instead of magic. Ignore any reference to a magical source/history/background/etc. Remove the susceptibility to dispel magic/antimagic, and there you are.

There may be a few items here and there that may seem too outlandish for a technology game. However, you could just say that such items are so technologically advanced that they are indistinguishable from magic.

Let's take a well-known example from the DMG: Gauntlets of Ogre Power. These are magic wondrous items created by a spellcaster who knows the bull's strength spell. But, what if you want to use them in a non-magical campaign? Well, it's as simple as altering them into a pair of gloves that inject the wearer with endorphins/adrenalin/whatever, granting him increased strength.

Finding a mundane alternative for a magic is probably the most imaginative part of the task.

Very cool. :) You made my morning.

I was going to post a question today asking if there were any future books planned on the same topic as Arsenal. Odd...

BTW, I am very impressed with Arsenal. I think it fits the DragonStar setting better than their own Imperial Supply book does.

Hey, that's awesome. Any chance you need a play tester for Factory? I am in the midst of designing a Sci-Fi campaign that will be starting up in the next few weeks...

Thanks,
