Factotem class and Rings of Wizardry?

A Ring of Wizardry states "The wearer’s arcane spells per day are doubled for one specific spell level.".

The Factotum can cast Arcane spells.

The Factotum may only cast one spell per day at his highest spell level he has access to at his class level, and all other spells he has that day can be cast at level 0 up to the second highest spell level he has access to.

For example, a level 14 Factotum can cast 6 spells per day, with the highest level spell being a level 5. This means he can cast a single level 5 spell and five level 4 spells, or cast six level four spells in a day.

Would a Ring of Wizardry IV allow the Factotum to prepare and cast up to twelve level 4 spells in a day?

RAW I doubt it, but I'd allow it. It seems like an incredibly bad deal though, IMO. RoW is already pretty expensive/overpriced. Add to that the limitation that they'd have to all be different 4th level spells and forfeiting that ability to use those slots on 5th and higher level spells later on just to use the ring? Again, sounds like a bad idea to me.

I hear you on how the ring sounds limiting, but I find it helps to think of the Factotum as a Skillmonkey first a foremost, and it's combat, healing and Arcane magic abilities are supplemental. If you instead thought of it as a Rogue with some versatile Arcane spellcasting ability, and a ring would double the number of spells the Rogue could use per day, would it sound more reasonable?

I guess it comes down to what else the character could afford to buy for the price of the ring. Perhaps resell it in higher levels for a better investment.
