Have played it once. Great setting, nice Psi-powers system, but the game mechanics overall look a bit dated in the post D20M/3.5e era.

I played Fading Suns using both their core system (1st & 2nd editions) and the D20 version. My own opinion is that the setting is outstanding, very immersive and filled with fantastic sci-fi / fantasy goodies.

System wise I prefer the FS 2nd Edition rules to the D20 version. Not that D20 was bad, just that their original system added flavor to the setting and helped to bring out the themes of the game.

I have to agree with Malladin. I ran it a couple of times and while I love the universe and some of the mechanics, it was written for 3rd edition and it shows. Holistic planned on releasing Sathranet which would have been powered by d20 Modern, but its currently vaporware
