For instance the Imp and Psuedodragon?
Do you gain it's special abilities?
What happens if your Familiar is a construct?

Different familiars give different bonuses. some don't give any. It's listed under each familiar.

None of the improved familiars give bonuses. They are a bonus unto themselves.

You do not gain any special abilities from a familiar.

If your familiar is a construct then, wait for it........its a construct. That does not effect anything like bonuses. There isa feat in one of the Dragons that allows you to have a construct familiar.

The Iron Dragon seems like an okay Familiar provided you have the Improved Familiar feat, are able to gain an additional familiar, and are 7th level. The DM should have additional role playing restrictions, but that is campaign specific.

So the only thing you get is somelike +2 to Con or +2 Fort. if you have a Rat or Toad familiar?

Corect, you don't get improved evasion.
