Familiar - You can help pick!

The character:

Countess Natalia Iceheart. Level 5 Wizard(Necromancer), Level 6 Pale Master. Undead Familiar spell, level 3. Many deadly spells. She is LE, She is more of an insidiously evil type, with honeyed words, kind gestures, and a slight underlying aura of menace. She is never overthetopinyourface evil, unless you are face to face with her in her sanctum, and her familiar needs to reflect that.

I dont usually care for familiars, but I would like her to have one, and I need inspiration. Any arguments for any familiar a level 11 caster can use will be appreciated, and special attention paid to undead ones with style.

I'd drop the familiar via optional rules like those found in Unearthed Arcana or Dragon Magazine via Flaws and take either a bonus feat (via Flaw), or see what special benefit you get via Unearthed Arcana.

I like the idea of familiars, but have almost had no character who I'd want to have a familiar.

there are rules for spellstitched undead too.

so perhaps a spellstitched zombie or ghoul would work for your pale master.

You could easily adapt almost any critter on the traditional familiar lists (paying particular attention to the advanced familiar options, naturally), by ripping all the flesh and tissue off it and leaving an appropriately eerie skeleton -- a dire rat or giant snake composed of bones, for example?

If you're going to do that, though, I'd skew the concept against type by starting with a traditionally beautiful or peaceful animal -- a half-dragon dove or dire bunny.

Either:

Pseudo-Dragon Variant, essentially the same beast, but looks like a small Blue Dragon (and is lawful evil)

or a Blue (or other dragon) that died very young and has been reanimated as undead
