Familiars can use your supernatural abilities?

In ToB, under familiars, there is mention that a familiar is ability benefit from supernatural abilities that you possess, as long as your are able to target yourself with them.

Now, how would you define "target yourself"? There are some abilities that a character can get, but do not specify if they are "targetted." For instance, a shadowdancer's hide in plain sight ability is supernatural, but it doesn't really say that you target yourself although the only thing you are effecting is yourself.

If a supernatural ability does not have a range, or speficies that you can target another person than yourself, you can safely assume that the target is you.
