Grimmer. Darker. Meher. Origine story and vilain we already saw. I'll probably see it in theaters, but with little enthusiasm.

I love the classic 60s FF, the Byrne 80s FF and the Mark Waid run.
This movie doesn't look like the FF at all, excpet perhaps the Ultimate version.

Enough of origin stories. We know where they came from. Enough of CGI. The Thing's practical suit, from the last two movies, was great and let the actor ACT. And, finally, enough of bloody reboots when the last reboot started just 10 years ago.

Are there any known ties (as presented in the media) between the new FF movie and the other Marvel movies: Avengers (including Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, and Agents of Shield), Guardians, or the up and coming Ant-Man? The usual Marvel logo is displayed with the new trailer.

Thx!

"Fantastic Four" is a Fox property. "The Avengers" is a Marvel Studios/Walt Disney Studios property.

It's still a possibility. They've wrangled it with Spider-man and the Avengers. Just needs studios to talk to each other; it happens. They're all co-produced by Marvel Entertainment, whichever studio foots the actual bill or handles the distribution.

Known ties? Nope.

I would look for possible ties with the X-Men, Deadpool (up coming film soon) and mutants in general. Fox owns the rights to all of those and I would think they would want their Avengers franchise too.

What caught my eye was the use of the all red "Marvels" logo in the trailer. That seems to brand it in the same universe. Although, too many superheroes in the same universe seems to rather muddle things. Too many and the placement of the stories in "our" universe breaks down badly.

I think that having X men in there own universe works best, maybe an ultimate FF, but I'll be honest I would do anything to see some FF properties (if not they themselves) in the MCU... Galactice and Doom would both play well in infinity gems. The skrulls and super skrull would be great...

To be honest I think Marvel and DC would both do better (especially in movies but this goes for comics too) if they didn't need to all be in one world.

I don't have a problem with using cgi to make The Thing look less like he does in the comics and more..."realistic".

I don't have a problem with the journey that made them the FF being cross dimensional as opposed to trans-atmospheric. In a way, it makes more sense- exposure to alien energies &environments unlocking alien abilities. Opens up the Annihilus plot arcs, too. (Is he the villain in this one?)

But the blended Storm family and the young Reed Richards? Feh. Changes that do nothing for me, and seem disrespectful of the original source material. Change for change's sake.

Even though it looks superior to the previous FF movies, I'm probably giving this one a pass, too.

Oh yeah- count me in as another anti-reboot vote- recycling movies & TV shows is getting old.
