Hi Maxboy, thanks :)

This is the plastic one too. I find that when metal minis get too big they also get too heavy, so I prefer this version. Even though metal minis generally have more detail, plastic and resin sculpts are pretty decent nowadays and perfectly fine for 28mm or so - well, for me anyhow!

I have some well painted miniatures - but, when I've tried to take pics of them in the past, the pics turned out terrible... so, not sure how to take pics with a digital camera. Love the WoW dragon above.

Chances are the issue is the camera is too close to the minis or the camera is not being held steady enough. When taking pictures of minis, there are a lot of things that can go wrong, but foremost is not holding the camera steady enough. This causes blurry photos. Do everything else right and this will still give you a blurry useless photo. And there is worse news, at the scale mini photos are taken at, even the slight, naturally occurring movements caused by having as living body can deleteriously impact the photo. So this makes a stable footing a must for many cameras. Bracing the camera on a solid object or a tripod is one of the better ways to take care of this. Anything will do as long as the camera is held steady by something other than just your hand.

Also having something right behind the figs may help making sure the camera's autofocus homes in on the figs. Just remember to back away from the minis since autofocus is fairly temperamental at close proximity.
