Fantasy characters in Modern London? (wasn't there a module?...)

Someone needs to convert this Mace of St Cuthbert to 3E. I'd do it myself, but I'm not aware of any 1E->3E conversion guides and don't know enough about 1E to even begin to do it myself. I do have the Dragon archive around somewhere. Anyone wanna volunteer? Or has it been done somewhere already?

it was called "The City Beyond the Gate" in Dragon magazine #100

and it was a quest for the Mace of St Cuthbert

And it was terrible. The whole portrayal of contemporary London was drawn entirely from watching Dr. Who and reading Charles Dickens.

Unfortunately, that's 2E to 3E and an adventure in Dragon #100 is probably going to be 1E I would imagine.

true, but it's a good place to start

and, now that i think on it some more, i don't think a complicated conversion is necessary. IIRC, The City Beyond the Gate doesn't have any magic or magical creatures in 'modern' London. i think you'd just have to convert all the NPCs to 3e NPC classes and give the modern equipment an update (like giving critical threat ranges to guns and cars and such)
