Fantasy Clip-Art

re: www.clipart.com (used to be arttoday)

There is actually some very viable artwork on there as well. I've gotten a good bit of material off of there. Most requires some manipulation unless you're just after basic clipart.

I'm not sure about the sci-fi offerings, tho' I'll have to check that out sometime.

Hiya Phil.

PIG's Clip Art 1 is the same as the Stephen Cook Clip Art Collection except that it now includes a PDF catalog with individual jpg files. You can download the demo which is the PDF catalog. This way you can read the license for yourself and see what is included in the package. That's 70 images for $5.

Highly Recommended... :)

I've corresponded with V Shane quite a bit; he's a great guy and his art is spectacular. I've been less impressed by the preview material from LPJ design, and have only bought one collection as a result. Alea Publishing just came out with a collection of copyright-free artwork; the initial product was a pdf you could cut n' paste from; after customer feedback they're reissuing it to include the image files as seperate 300 dpi tiff files.

Cheers
Nell.

I had entertained the thought of doing a clip art deal.

What types of things would you be looking for in general?
For me, personally, I would like lots and lots of pictures of human/demihuman characters. You can never have enough wizards, knights, barbarians, and so forth. An item, a spell effect, and so forth are specific and only "fit" in certain places - but a character fits in many many more.
