Fantasy Europe Setting/Game?

I'm with Teflon Billy in this, the Ars Magica mythic europe stuff is excellent stuff.

Mythic Europe in itself is fairly good, but the Medieval Handbook and Ordo Nobilis (about nobility) are excellent sourcebooks for any medieval setting.

The books about the various areas of mythic europe are of varying quality. I am not that fond of the Iberian and Rome books, but the Dragon and the Bear, about the russian principalities, is a favourite of mine.

And as long as you keep magic a little low-key you should be able to use much of it as it is.

(Hârn is quite good as well. But I think mythic europe is better.)

Man, I wish I had thuoght of that. Ordo Nobilis is a great companion piece to Mythic Europe.

I also really liked the map that came with Mythic Europe.

On the merits of Ars Magica

And if you want a quick perview of the kind of setting, the Dragon and the Bear (a fine Ars Magica book describing the area of eastern europe et al, as described above) is available as a PDF from RPGNow at a low price.

Did I mention this is my favorite game system?

is the ars magica stuff still in print? i got the iberia book second hand, and its ok... but if the other books are better i'd love to see them.
