Fantasy Football

It's done. The Gods have decided to settle things once and for all. Therefore, the fate of every world in the multiverse will be decided by a single event. A soccer match.

As the players take the pitch, I want you to give me your nomination for players in this cosmic battle. They can be any historical figure or fictional character, creature, monster, NPC, PC, from any world, any time. The goal: to build two teams of sixteen players (11 on the pitch, 5 subs) to fight it out for ultimate control of the cosmos.



My nominations, to start with:

Good

Goalkeeper: Elminister from Forgotten Realms. All he'd need is a whole lot of wall of force spells and that's that.
Defender: A nymph. All she'd have to do is take her top off...
Striker: Conan. What more do you need of a goal-scorer than biceps you can build houses out of and an uncluttered cranium?

Evil

Goalkeeper: Any Marilith. Four arms = perfect goalie.
Defenders: Four Frost Giants. Let's see the Good strikers get past them!

Sticking with d20 fantasy, how about any of the lurker-type flying carpet monsters as GK? Just spread out over the goal and stay.

Or a big Gelatinous Cube as Keeper!

Also, as an odd Striker player, a trained Bulette, with the ball placed under his 'fin' by the keeper, it burrows and emerges in the opponent's goal (and behind the walls of force!)


Also Air elementals might make for wicked corner-kick takers with the spin they could place on the ball.


For humor, the Incredibles family would make a decent defensive side with the Mom as GK and the rest great defenders...
