Though if the objection is to the big swing in D20, D100 (for RQ) isn't liable to be perceived as any better.

On the other hand WFRP4E takes care of the swing (or whiff factor).

I can't say since I'm not familiar with it, but--it suffers from a more extreme version of the Shadow of the Demon Lord problem of being embedded in a pretty dark setting that won't suit everyone.
