I'm partial to Greek and Gaelic names, myself. (Siobhan is really pretty, but it's been Americanized to the point where it's maybe not worth it.) Just be sure you, at least, know how to pronounce them correctly. I also really like the name Brigitte (it was mentioned earlier), pronounced the German way, not the French. Though I'd probably spell it "Birgitte" since I know someone who's named Brigitte.
However, in general, it's a good thing I'm not a parent--I'm all for naming my kids something utterly unpronounceable and unspellable. I imagine traumatizing them early in life will get them set for success for the rest of their lives. Or at least, they'll be prepared to meet (more) trauma. If I ever have kids, hopefully there will be someone sensible close by to prevent me from doing it.
