FAQ - Frequently asked questions.

I think the FAQ should simply be links to threads with the same topic, organized, grouped, etc. The FAQ should not actually try to answer anything.
Yes (except when it can, of course).

Updated to include this. Can I get reactions on the chunk out of the Official FAQ.

It's passable.

However, I might recommend taking out your own personal opinions in the answer to question "How are minimum caster levels determined? Is the listed one a prerequisite?"

Hey, just noticed you included a link to my site in item #2 at the top. Thanks, I appreciate the consideration, hope it's helpful to folks.

Hey, that's cool. I had wanted an FAQ for quite a while. :)

Monk + Improved Natural Attack feat - yes or no?

Well, someone emailed custserv and they said yes, but I CALLED custserv, and explained in detail why there is a point of contention, and they said no...

With all the debates that we had on this question, and the information above, I'd say no.

...

BUT, IMC I houseruled it to yes, because quite frankly, the monk needs the boost.

Great, the lance as one-handed weapon or two-handed weapon controversy has already been noted.

The other questions I notice popping up fairly often (and my opinions) are:

1. Do you need to use Handle Animal to direct a mount you're riding to attack, or is it covered by the "attack with mount" option under the Ride skill?
Rules of the Game - All About Mounts (Part 2) indicates that the Ride check is sufficient. However, the RAW are unclear, and some DMs may also require a Handle Animal check.

2. What can you do while riding a mount?
This is covered by Rules of the Game - All About Mounts (Part 3). Generally, you can take a full round of actions - a standard action plus a move action, or a full-round action - even while your mount is moving. However, your mount's movement may restrict or penalize certain actions. For example, you can normally only make a single melee attack after your mount has moved more than 5 feet. If your mount makes a double move or runs, your ranged attacks are penalized, and you have to make a Concentration check to cast a spell.

3. How do I make a Ride-by Attack?
This is addressed in the 3.5e FAQ in the Monsters section (as it references a question on Flyby Attack). Essentially, when using Ride-By Attack, you must move in a straight line towards the closest square from which you can attack your foe and still continue in the straight line of the charge.

4. Where can I find information about alternate paladin mounts?
3.5e DMG p. 204

That would be interesting... a WikiFAQ. I don't suppose anyone knows how to set up something like that?

I suppose I could set that up. Would anyone actually use it or would this just be something people scramble to at first and then forget about?

Perhaps if the friendly people of EN World would like to donate a host name (faq.enworld.org)and a link, it could be a useful addition to the site. I would be willing to do hosting, if that were the case.

But I have reservations on setting up and hosting a Wiki (which can be a bit of a maintenance hassle due to defacement, spam, etc.) that would end up not being used for legitimate reasons.
