favorite 3.5 adaptiation of ratmen?

There's no Con bonus listed on the version posted directly in the linked thread ... I didn't read the PDF version though, so maybe it was in there.

But even without a Con bonus, a re-read suggests they are definitely ECL+2. Small sized, but 30 ft move, +1 natural armor, +8 balance and +8 climb (and can take 10 on any climb check, even when threatened).

The listed warrior has two feats at 1st level too, suggesting they get Alertness as a racial bonus feat, though that's not stated in the stats.

I don't think the 3e vs 3.5 nature of the ratmen of Scarred Lands is anything significant. They're certainly usable in 3.5 as is.

Those are my favorite, but that's mostly because they're rather unabashedly just a d20-ization of the Warhammer skaven, who are the only true ratmen.

Easy: Goblins, just re-imagined as rat-like.
I say halflings!

Skaven: +2 Dexterity, –2 Strength, Small, base speed is 20’ feet. If carrying nothing in your in hands, add 5’ to your base speed and +2 bonus to balance checks. +2 on Listen, Survival [food and tracking], and Move Silently checks. May use DEX rather than STR on climb checks if barefoot, +2 on Charisma checks dealing with rat like creatures, -2 on most charisma checks with most other humanoids, +1 on all saving throws, +2 on saving throws against disease, Low light vision. Due to having a set of sharp teeth, your “unarmed strike" damage is 1d4 lethal and you are considered armed when attack with them. Languages: Common. Bonus Languages: Dwarven (tunnel rat), Gnoll, Giant, Kaliem(Desert rat), High speech, Glantri, Saurian [swamp rat] and Orc, Favored Class: Rogue.

:p

Halflings get to be cake mix for TRUE ratmen. :)

J-Dawg,

Good save! I award you 1,000 XP.

*does think the Creature Collection Revised is worth the extra cash*
