Bill Gates is just an Aranaloth that like people he's the Oinoloth.

I'm sorry, as Enworld's resident Arcanaloth (and a fetching specimen at that!) I'm deeply offended by that statement.

*looks offended*

Bill Gates has Baatezu written all over him. Besides, if a Yugoloth made windows it would work perfectly, would have 100% market share, and then it'd all simultaneously crash across the world when we decided to we wanted to bring in a new improved operating system.

Right. Sorry Shem. I'll retract that statement then. ;)

Treebore, I don't need to apologize for anything. Orcus now and always.

Why, did Mr Cook turn him into a slug?
And if so...
Why did Mr Cook turn him into a slug?

Was that a result of the Book of Vile Darkness or did it happen in the 2e Planescape crap? Either way, its fairly easy to ignore...just make him the fly-headed humanoid (or semi-fly-headed humanoid) he was in 1e. :)

I think it was BoVD Scott. I don't recall that happening in any 2e products. Though might want to consult Shem on that count. But yeah he was cooler that way.

It was in 2e Planescape as well. There's a picture in the 'Planes of Law' box set that has Baalzebul as a slug, though I personally like later pictures of the 9 by other folks, except for DiTerlizzi's picture of Asmodeus. That kicked butt seriously, the others looked too whimsical for my taste, about the only time that I'll say I prefer another artist's work over Tony D for anything planar related. Heh.

The warping of his form was a result of The Reckoning which was detailed in parts in PS, 'A Paladin in Hell' which wasn't technically a PS product, and perhaps most comprehensively it was covered in the 2e 'Guide to Hell'. My own feelings on the book are mixed admittidly for its take on Asmodeus and Jazirian that came out of left field, but that's a self rightious rant for another time. ;)
