Herculoids, you don't mess with the Herculoids, they have no problem taking out you and your whole race.

I recently got started on Berserk the anime series, that is great.

So there have been lots of threads about fantasy-setting books. How about some favorite fantasy-based cartoons that you have liked?

* Thundercats (strong fantasy setting)
* Pirates of Dark Water (strong fantasy setting and based on a "quest")
* The Adventures of Conan the Barbarian (I can't recall the exact name of this cartoon series though, the one where they were getting the metal to banish set and the lizard people, etc.) (strong fantasy setting and based on a quest)
* Gargoyles (strong fantasy setting)

Well theres my list. I think the best of the lot was Thundaar the Barbarian though.

Gamma World the cartoon more or less.

I see I'm not the first one to heartily reccomend the Slayers anime. It is a strong favorite of mine. Not only is is (usually) funny, but the adventures are (usually) worthy of gaming. I love the one where they go fishing for a river dragon so they can cook it. And it's coming out in D20 to boot.

Other great fantasy anime I've seen include: Record of Lodoss Wars, Berserk, Bastard, Sorcererous Stabber Orphen, Rayearth (real cool because their gear levels up as they do), Iny Yasha (if you wanna take it to Medieval Japan), Ruin Explorers (vital!!), Those Who Hunt Elves (modern people TEAR up a fantasy world!), El-Hazard, oy, there's a lot. I wish American animation would get this involved in fantasy. I have a few ideas. ;)

Just saw a new anime called Mouse. The main character is a young man who steals precious objects just for the hell of it. He's rich, handsome, a master hacker, and a bunch of other stuff. He has a team of women who all call him "master" and have bodies that could put most goddesses to shame (not the least of which is due to them apparently having stuffed watermelons down their tops, I swear). And to top it off, they constantly want to sleep with him, to the point where he sometimes has to placate them from wanting it too much.

I would thusly definately classify this as extremely fantasy. :D
