Inspired by this thread, I am kind of curious to see if there's a significant difference between preferred play levels, versus DMing levels.

So, this is the DM poll. What level range is your favorite as a DM.

You know, I expected Medium to do well, but I never expected it to do as well as it has. It has an overwhelming majority over all other contenders!

Despite my choice of medium, however, I mostly prefer levels 5-13: medium and a half, I suppose.

My favorite are levels two through eight (2-8). In fact, my games always end before the players reach 12th level. I usually treat games as if 11th level is, in effect, Epic. Imagine the :D +20 Jump check characters could easily have at 11th level.

What is really surprising me (and probably shouldn't) is how many more responses the DM poll has than the players poll. Is that an ENWorld thing, or a 'hangs out at internet forums' thing?

I think people are just firmer on their DMing preference, in that many people are just happy to play - at any level.

I picked 10-15 because that's when I think PC's really get into their own
- but I can see the mid level draw.
PC's are not so fragile that one good roll and it's all over (which by the way is also a danger at high level). But their not so buff that they're effectively super heroes.

If medium takes the win, perhaps a second poll could focus in on a more specifc level range. 5-8, 9-12 kind of idea.
Good idea. 8-12 would have been my pick, but since that's not an option, I picked 5-10.
