As for me, my favorite is divination. If knowledge is power...

But doesn't power corrupt? That would mean divination is the evil magic, not necromancy! I'll be sure to specalize in divination next time I make an evil spell caster.

I don't have a favorite school of spells, I don't get to play enough to use the spells and find out what ones are fun to use .

I picked Transmutation, but then I started thinking about Enchantment and Conjuration.
It's polls like this that are harmed most by this silly "game balance" business. Just Say No!

Transmutation, Divination, and Illusion are my "triumvirate" of favorite schools, in that order (just barely).

Divination. Knowledge is power and all the flashy killing spells won't do you a lick of good of the ambush kills you first.

Currently I'm rather enjoying Necromancy ... Ray of FEEB and Ray of Exhaustion, while not a fireball-like powerhouse ... it's quite fun to watch the GM's face fall when his raging ogre barbarian risks losing an arm-wrestling competition with the wizard's familiar.

But I have to say that Trans and Conj are my big favs, as I'm a huge fan of utility spells. Pyrotechnics, Grease, Glitterdust, Fly, etc.
