Well, it's a little conditional, but I'd have to go with "Christmas Wrapping" by the Waitresses. The only caveat being that I have to hear it on the radio around Christmastime. That really makes the whole holiday for me.
This is a tough one, so lets see. A lay me in the grave song would be "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin. A well orchestrated piece that manages to conjur up both peace and turmoil, much like life.
The song I just can't help but love when it comes on - "More Than A Feeling" by Boston. Its just a great, upbeat wonderful song that reminds me of the good times I had in highschool.
"Heart and Soul" by T'Pau. A one minute legal sample is here. (Real Audio clip)
I don't generally think about a "lay me in the grave song," you morbid, morbid people , but I think I want "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes, ala Star Trek II.
Instead of lowering the tone and picking more then one, I'll just say I haven't been around long enough to pick a constant favourite. Just my taste tend to wander.
Oh I can't resist:
Bother - Stonesour
Faint - Linkin Park
Don't stop me now - Queen
