Favorite Template?

I have two, both from WotC...

> Tauric Creature Template: This one is in D&D Savage Species. I've had lots of fun with this one.

> Anthropomorphic Animal: Also from D&D Savage Species. A great way to create new races.

However, my favorite sourcebook for templates is Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition from Silverthorne Games. Of course, there is some bias in that choice. I also have Advanced Bestiary from Green Ronin, but I haven't really used that book much, yet.

Cheers!

When I first saw this thread I didn't think I really had a favorite. Looking through my NPC folder I realized I love the multi-headed template. I have a three-headed half-dragon ogre that my players have encountered (thankfully not fought-they're only 4th level) and a 12-headed pseudonatural mature adult green dragon that will be a challenge for their epic levels.

Shadow Creature -- MotP, LoM

Half-Fiend -- MM, SRD

Spellstitched -- MM2

Insectile -- Savage Species

Since you asked:

#1 is Multiheaded, closely followed by Feral, both from Savage Species.
Hehe! We think alike Danny! :)

Multiheaded is handy for freaks and servants of corruptive powers. And I've used Feral happily to represent the "Dr Jekyll - Mr Hyde" transformation, after an encounter with a strange magical device.

The elemental templates from Manual of the Planes has been useful to provide strange alternative creatures from elemental planes, or called by elementalists.

Elemental templates from 3.0 Book of Templates (the original, not the deluxe one).

Best elemental templates I've seen, no breath weapons, smites, or spell abilities, just appropriate elemental traits and powers.

How do these compare with the ones from the Monster Handbook or the last Scarred Lands book, Lost Tribes? I've been using a homemade set of elemental templates to replace the fiendish/celestial templates for monster summoning spells IMC.
