Favourite Names for Weapons

Godhammer - a flail wielded in the war between the gods and the titans, it had been shattered into five pieces, each of which was a potent weapon in its own right.

Mercystick - a sentient truncheon that had been named such by a bugbear slaver, he kept the appelation when he was liberated by the party. His voice and personality were essentially C-3P0.

Demiurge out.

I played a berserker of a large-sized serpentine race for quite a while, and for his ancestral relic he had a greatspear named Jormungand's Fang.

My Living Force PC had an Underslung repeating blaster rifle that our primary DM named "Painless" (I believe that's after the weapon that Vasquez uses in "Aliens").
It's actually Jesse Ventura's minigun in Predator. ;)

Another fave of mine is an undead slaying sword called Secondeath...

Also an artifact status evil sword with the ability to disintegrate bodies and destroy souls called Unmaker...

My half-elf Battle Sorcerer weilds a +1 elf-bane longsword named "Kinslayer" - so far mostly against drow but given his relationship to his extended family the name is likely to get even more appropriate. He also has a +1 demon-bane longsword that has yet to earn a name.

The half-orc cleric of Ganesha has a battlecry that alternatingly refers to himself or whatever weapon he is currently weilding (currently a +1 morningstar w/ some minor magical properities) as "Gatecrasher!"

An artifact Greatsword named "Carnivor" that drained blood (CON) to fuel its powers. If not "fed" on a daily basis it began to drain its posessor. When the wielder reached 0 CON they transformed into a nasty intelligent undead (at work, can't remember the name) under control of the sword.

The T'Kung Emperor's Champion (homebrew setting) wielded a sword named "Joyeus". The sword granted Morale bonuses to those around it.

That is clever!

One PC wielded a frost-shortsword called Rime. True to its name, it was continually covered in frost.

Currently, there's a cleric wielding Niranvil, an elven warhammer. It's only a plain old +1 weapon, but the description of it as a relatively-delicate warhammer shot through with whorls and veins of sparkling mithril make it a bit flashier-sounding.

My maenad telepath/fighter named her twin cold iron +1 holy daggers "Kiss" and "Tell."

One time I was given an intelligent flesh-grinding katana with the ability to shoot fireballs and use a couple of other fun spells and abilities. My assassin (who had no name) named the sword "Sally".
