Feats a Warlock should take?

Well, As to feats here is what I've done. I started as a human and so I have an additional feat. I took 2 Flaws, 1 from Unearthed Arcana and 1 from Dragon Magazine; NonCombatant and Curious. The 2 Flaws provide me with 2 Feats. So I started the game with 4 feats. I am currently 6th level, here are my feats thus far...

1 Ability Focus (Eldrith Blast)
1 Spell Penetration
1 Sacred Vow
1 Purify Spell Like Ability
3 Scribe Scroll
6 Mortalbane

Planned Feats

9 Vow of Poverty
12 Maximize Spell Like Ability
15 Quicken Spell Like Ability
18 Extra Invocation

This obviously doesn't include any of the bonus feats from the Vow of Poverty.

I imagine some people wonder how I can manage Mortalbane and Sacred Vow etc. Well, it's all role playing driven and character based. My character is CG, grew up always trying to do the right thing, the good thing, but for some reason has a problem with authority and rules so he got into a lot of trouble. When he came into his powers as a teenager many thought he was to become a sorcerer but when it came to light that he was indeed tapping into the kind of power Warlocks have he was shunned, isolated and eventually run off. In searching for knowledge about what he is and researching his family history he has come to learn about his abilities, the good and the bad. He strives to achieve the good whilst fighting the evil he knows flows in his veins. His mortalbane feat represents his ability to tap into and harness that "bad blood" in a limited fashion, although he knows that to do so too often tempts the darkness.

I know this is all pretty cliche but hey, everybody I see running CG Warlocks justify them as having the fey background. I like the fiendish nature, the dark purple and red energy bands of eldritch energy. The internal conflict and sometimes party conflict. The elder wisened paladin in the party has taken me under his moral wing trying to steer me in the correct path etc. It's kind of funny as I'm 32 and the paladin is being played by a 22 year old and in game the whole age, wisdom, life thing we have to play reversed.

Also, I choose not to dive into the point blank shot precise shot feat tree as my character is chaotic by nature. I've never viewed preciseness as a chaotic trait and if my character can help it he'll never be within 30'.

Yeah, drop Scribe Scroll and consider taking Vow of Poverty earlier. You don't get bonus feats for levels taken before you gained the Vow. Assuming your DM hasn't house ruled that.

An easy drop in is Weapon Focus (Ranged Touch).

Ah, good point. I forgot the Warlock restriction. When I took the feat I was focused on the Feat restrictions. My DM missed that as well. Oops. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Good thing I haven't scribed any scrolls yet. :)

My group decided to House Rule to restrict the Vow of Poverty feat for any characters until the standard 9th level feat choice. It was a group decision when BoED was first published. We put a lot of emphasis on role playing and characters need to roleplay thier feat selections. This obviously leads to a handful of feats house ruled to later levels.

Thanks for pointing out the Scribe Scroll error.
