Feats a Warlock should take?

With the Warlock NPCs I've played, I like these feats:

Improve Initiative (Blast first, ask questions later)
Empower/Maximize/Quicken Spell like ability (try putting all those together on an EB . . . ouch!!! )
Extra Invocation (Can't have enough of these!)

Good luck w/your character. Some feel that the warlock is too narrow to be fun, but I think they are great and offer many interesting role-playing possibilities.

You can also try Quicken Spell-Like (Flee the Scene) + Empower/Maximize Spell-Like (Eldritch Blast).

Use it just after popping in somewhere you weren't expected (such as near to the opposing party Wizard) or to get out of a sticky situation (were just charged by opposing party Fighter--in which case consider tacking on Repelling Blast).

Every Warlock build I've made thus far has taken Extra Invocation at least 3 times (Least, Lesser, Greater). Other than that, it really depends on what you want to focus on. If you're planning on reaching lvls 12+ you want at least 3 Item Creation Feats. Staff, is probabbly the best, as well as Rod and Wonderous (the only two Warlock items thus far, a Rod and a Chausable... And Staves are insane in the hands of a 'Lock). There is a reason that a Gestalt Warlock|Artificer is uber.

My first Warlock was part of a Mercenary company, so I choice feats and invocations that made sense for War. Like Eldritch Spear with Point Blank, Precise Shot, and Weapon Focus: Ray.

I've considered trying out Obtain Familiar, but I don't even use the damn things with my Wizard/Sorcs...

I would go with Scribe Scroll instead of Craft Rod. Scribe Scroll gives the Warlock inexpensive access to every spell in the game. I think that will be more useful, in the long run.

Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot come in handy when facing a high touch ac opponent. Improved Precise Shot will be a very nice high level feat if your dex gets high enough.

See The Unseen is very useful for the Darkvision it provides (allowing you to blast enemies in the dark) as well as the see invisible.

Ability Focus is good.

Some people really like the empower/maximize/quicken feats, but I don't like them because of the 3/day limitation is contrary to the warlock unlimited usage of powers concept.

Personally, I would look for feats that really increase your capabilities as opposed to adding a +1 to something.

Great Cleave for fighters/barbarians is an example of a feat that really increases your capabilities as opposed to just giving a +1.

Scribe Scroll might be a good example of a feat that really gives Warlock's tremendous powers once they are level 12.

Mortalbane (from BoVD) is handy, an extra +2d6 on blasts and other damage powers, 5/day/each. Only works on 'mortal' targets though.

Warlock and a level or two of monk synergizes nicely with Zen Archery, so you can add your Wis mod to blast attack roles and your AC and skimp on dex.

Heh, Hideous Blow + Unarmed attack. I like it.

I was just recently told that Point Blank Shot and Percise Shot become worthless later in level. I am torn between taking them and not.

I just don't see the value of spending experience on only paying half the cost.

Mind if I ask why? Is it a house rule?

Also, look up Weapon Focus (Eldritch Blast) if your DM will allow it.
