Apologies buried in text. Sell me on poison spray.
I'm not sure i can sell you it as the only damage cantrip, there are just too many ways for it to be useless.

But i could definitely see it as a pair. Possibly using it 70% of the time, with sorcerer's burst as the other 30%.

And I do wonder about mind sliver as well, for being the most accurate with Int being low. Or quicken mind sliver + heightened finger of death.

Yeah mind slivers probably the best cantrip overall competing with Eldritch blast. I lije the magic initiate feats a lot so it's an easy pick up.

Main problem is how many attack cantrips you need. I have a Warlock build that has 13 odd cantrips low level. Think it gas 6 or 7 attack ones for every situation (starry burst radiant, EB go to, Sorcererous Burst for hunter ranger combo, toll the dead for a save required vs attack, true strike).

May be excessive. True strike+ ranged is really all you need most of the time imho.

I've stopped caring about danage and int is best save to target so I'll use true strike/mind sliver combo as go to for relevant classes.

Truestike has an 80' range, 360 with disadvantage.
100' if you get martial weapons.
And nothing stops you from swapping to melee if needed.

Depens on the party too.

I'm in a group with a pike polearm master wild heart barbarian (bonus action dash + disengage, reaction push), and a ranged battlemaster fighter (slow / push / topple maneuver), and a life cleric (as backup). And I drop web as my go to. Very effective keep away. Though we end up in a suspicious amount of ambushes from all sicombination.

So Truestrike/Ray of Frost would be probably be optimal.

but I could definitely see Truestrike + mind sliver as an good combo, but it depends on the party.

I'm still sticking with Sorcerer's Burst + ray of frost for thematic reasons though.
