feats + prc

Dark Dragon

Perhaps the answer is easy, but I'm not sure how to handle this:

A character of level 8 has enough xp to advance to level 9, and would gain a feat then (lets say, the player chooses Mobility).
The player would like to add the Shadow Dancer prc to his char, and Mobility is last feat he has to take to meet the prerequesites.
So, what comes first: the feat when he reaches level 9, or the advancement in a class?
In the latter case the char could take the Shadow Dancer only when reaching level 10... :(

Page 145-6 of the PHB... Choose your next class first, then feats.

So, in this case, the player has to choose to level-up in a class that he already has met the prereq.'s of for his new level. And take the Shadowdancer later...

Yup.

I never thought it was physically possible but this rule sucks and blows at the same time, but since I'm outnumbered I'll shut up.

Tata.

We're not really rule bound, causes too much trouble, so we just let everything come at the same time.

Kinda.
