[Feb] What are you reading now?

...however not that I understand you are planning to read those in a month, consecutively rather than concurrently, it makes perfect sense. Sorry if I sounded snide in my reply.

No problem. I guess I wasn't too clear with my grammar. In any event I wasn't offended by your reply, just curious. I thought you might have had something against the Chronicles of Narnia or something. :p

the fourth geroge r. r. martin book in the song of ice and fire series... liking it a lot.

You are reading the series in paperback right? The third book A Storm of Swords was divided into two when printed in paperback hence you think you are reading the fourth book, whilst others (like me) are waiting with increasingly bated breath for the fourth book in the series A Feast for Crows

Anyway I am presently reading Mistworld The first prelude to Simon R Green's Deathstalker series. The whole series is light science fantasy stuff - pulpy, fast and a lot of fun. I have a feeling that it would make a good scenario backdrop for a Dragonstar campaign.

Welverin:

I'm on chapter 9 right now. It is ... decent. I don't know how the book ends up, but if you like combat, this book has little to offer you. 9 chapters so far, and VERY little combat.

Still, some of it is pretty interesting. Reading the Imperials reactions when Leia tells them the Death Star is destroyed, along with the Emperor and Vader is kinda cool.

I'm reading it becuase I have devoted myself to reading all the Star Wars books (starting AFTER the movies, so Truce @ Bakura is the first) in chronological order. I don't know why I want to, but I just do :)

I think that Mistworld, Ghostworld and Hellworld were all written before the main Deathstalker series. They are three unconnected books all set in the same universe.

Some of the characters that survive these three books have cameos parts in the main Deathstalker series of books

I'm currently reading the 'Legends' book with the Hedge Knight story by George R.R. Martin.

Then I'm tackling the 'The Conan Chronicles, Vol. 1'. I was finally able to track down Howard's stories.

The Neutronium Alchemist, Part 1: Consolidation, by Peter F. Hamilton.

Aren't they great? Hard sci-fi, horror, epic scope, great characterization... these books really took me by surprise.

Currently reading: The Scar by China Mieville. Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov --this time slowly and carefully, like you should. And I just started flipping through Dan Simmon's Hyperion over the weekend, 'cause they're so much fun...
