Feeding a pack of gnolls

gnolls are gnome/troll hybrids. at least they are in OD&D(1974)

They were gnome/troll hybrids in the Mentzer Basic Set as well (Red Box). I wonder when this was dropped? I don't recall it in 1e.

Hey, that thread about orphanages gives me a thought.

What if your evil Vampire guy poses as someone who will help anyone. Refugees, criminals, the insane, orphans, the dregs of society that no one else will touch.

He's so good at it that he's even been able to reform gnolls.

Now he doesn't need cattle. And the vampire can feed as well.

In RuneQuest there was a supplement that had a menu from a Troll restaurant (Trolls were as civilized as any other race in that game). They would tie a live herd beast of your choice to a stake in the courtyard and let the diners enjoy themselves.
