Feline Agility and Cat’s Claws. Stack/mix/blend?

As the title suggests, with Tabaxi features can I:

  1. Use Feline Agility to climb double speed or is that feature reserved only for walking speed?
  2. At the end of my climbing speed, if I have not reached another flat surface, do I stay on a wall or drop?
  3. If I stay, can I cast a spell that requires a somatic gesture (with finger cymbals as a musical focus)? or is that really pushing it? (I think I might know the answer to this one already)

Not something I expect to happen a lot (if at all) but just intrigued if it ever came up. Many thanks in advance for your time and responses.

Yes you can double your climb speed. Note that your climb speed is only 20 ft, so you could climb 40. You might want to read page 90 in the PHB on combining movement, because it could get a little weird. Basically you subtract the movement you already taken from your current movement and subtract it from your new movement.

Anything with a climb speed can hold onto walls.

I always assume a creature with a climb speed can use a free hand. Depending on the situation I might even allow two hands (with an acrobatics check) but that's going to vary by DM.

Have fun!

P.S. Just remember that if you climb a tree it's your responsibility to get down. Nobody likes a scaredy cat, and don't expect your local paladin to come get you down. :D

Well of course not. It's the Evocation Wizard's job to rescue cats.

Wait, wrong kind of fire fighter.
