Festival of Halina (Orsal Judging)

Troi strolls away after the setting-up is done, heading to the vendors haphazardly and without any sort of planning involved to look at their various wares. He keeps an eye out for any magical sacks, as well as watching for anyone with enchanted weaponry or armor, or perhaps tomes of arcane lore.

OOC: Ok, Fang and Sunny, are you going to accompany anyone or go off on your own? Elise and Lasair are going off togeather, Oirhandir has his own agenda but has invited Fang, and I'm sure someone could hang out with Troi if need be. I can handle as many directions as you wish, but just want to know where you're going :)

Oh, Sunny will hang with the fine babes... I mean, why not? He can 'whelm them with stories of his, well, or least, I mean, kinda, perhaps flirt some?

Barring that, he's always on the lookout for scrolls.

And stuff like that.

The Party is split (Time to kill them ;) )

Fang & Oirhandir:
Moving around first the north field, you find wares of all kinds. Several booths are selling food of some kind, often something strange from a far off land. You do manage to find a strange merchant selling various sized carrying containers. He's rather small, and has several cat like features.* He smiles when he sees you browsing his wears and says "Can I help you gentilemen?"

* Oirhandir: [Sblock]Bardic Knowledge: You've heard of a race called the Katara form the far east that was somewhat cat like.[/sblock]

Elise and Lasair:
You explore some of the north field, looking at wares and asking merchants about encounters with bandits. Amazinly, you find that about half of the of the merchants you speak to have encountered bandits. Many came from a different direction and their answers always vary. Some fought them off, some simply paid to get by them, some negotiated a ware to trade them. You get a few who accurately describe Phineus, but you can tell right away that the gold doesn't add up with the ones who claim to have lost money, and they also mention that there was a reward on Phineus's head (Which is usually consistant, 500 gold alive, 100 gold dead). Most of the rest simply say they write it off as a business expense and said simply that they hope whoever takes care of those bandits enjoys their well earned reward. Curiously, one of the merchants claims that he heard that three brave adventurers turned in Phineus's badly chared body for the reward. Saying that they appeared to have done it unarmed and unarmored.

As far as shoping goes, there are several baubles and trinkets available, though most of the merchants seem to be holding some of what they have back for the festival itself when it starts tomorow. By far, the most unique merchant is likely the somewhat small man with cat-like features selling various carrying containers. However, Elise spots a cute pair of earings at a booth run by a half-orc. They dangle of gold, with a small orb at the end that glows dimly of constantly changing pastel hues.

Troi:
Ingus is well stocked in fine arms and armor you find as you help unload his wagons. He has kept most of the more magical stuff back to sell when the festival starts, but he does have many finely crafted weapons and armors on display already.

Wandering around, you eventualy winds up in the south field. There are several merchants there selling arms and armor as well, and you're sure a few of these fine items are enchanted. One dwarf merchant talks to you for a bit about base materials and speaks of how Mithril and Adamantite weapons and armor are far superior to purely magical ones. He does have many on sale too, though nothing enchanted.

Sunny:
You find that there is a bustle of things going on inside the town as well. The tavern is a busy establishment, actualy setting up several tables outside and several serving girls are in constant move to bring drinks and food out to patrons. Many of the shops of the town are setting up tables to sell their own wares, and others still are moving good via wagons towards the east fields.

A young woman, about your age you'd guess, with long blonde hair, sky blue eyes, and a fresh smile somehow finds her way over to you in all the comotion. She comes up to him and says "Hi there handsome. You look like a brave warrior who's traveled the world over. I'd sure like a companion to explore the festival with. Care to accompany me? My name's Daphnie"

(OOC: Careful Sunny, if she asks to buy candy, don't try to head off to Lucca's demonstration or they might convict you later in the kidnapping trial--oh wait, wrong game :p)

"Hmm...so the other bandits turned in their boss's body for the reward. Well, no matter, they had been stripped of more gold worth of stolen goods anyway. What concerns me is the way the numbers don't add up."

(OOC: What are the numbers Lasair is getting from the caravaners compared to the gold we found? Also, over how many caravans is this spread. Lasair has a plan to get the money to the right people, but it requires enough info to set it up correctly)

"Well, I can't say I really object too strongly to you assertions...I'm not entirely sure that I have travelled the world over, but then I'm not sure I haven't, either. As for accompanying you, it would be my pleasure."

Sunny puffs out his chest, turns his arm into a chicken wing, and waits for fair Daphnie to thread the needle with her own arm. Then, red-faced with pride and evidently quite pleased with his 'conquest', Sunny sets off, allowing Daphnie to lead the way.

It would be nice to find what he was looking for right here in the north field, allowing for the rest of the day to be spent just enjoying the festival. Oirhandir hoped the odd little man had what he wanted.

"Well, I hope that you can", the elf replied. "I'm looking for magical containers, the sort where you can fit more in the inside than it would seem possible from the outside. Would you have something like that for sale?" Oirhandir deftly and discreetly jingled the little pouch of gold that Ingus had given him, trying to get the man to notice without advertising his fortune to every passing pickpocket. Ingus's gold wouldn't be enough to get what he wanted by itself, but he did have Rupert's letter and hoped a down payment would establish him as a serious customer.

"Oh, and I hope I'm not being too forward", he added, "but I enjoy meeting the other travelers here, and wonder what you might have seen on your journeys. I'd be glad to tell you my tale and favor you with some music if you'd tell me yours."

Elise gathers up her knowledge of bartering Um, sir how much are these and these and those pointing at a few items and the earrings.

Perhaps we should just ask if the merchants crossed the river and then go from there.
