"Forgive me for not introducing myself. I am Lord Valdor of Riem. Tis always a pleasure to dance with such a lovely woman. Might you honor me by telling me your name?"

"Lord?!, ah yes, um, I am" gathering her own title for the occasion "Abjurer Elise Ellom"

"Your feet move as gracefully as the little skimmers that walk across the surface of still waters", he ventured. "I have traveled from across the great ocean, and have not seen such grace upon these shores until this moment", he continued, sweeping his gaze up to her eyes. "I am called Oirhandir, and my day would be complete if you would but tell me your name."
The girl smiles and blushes a bit "Ye're too kind Mr. Oirhandir. I'm just a simple gal who likes ta dance. Ye kin call me Scarlet. Ya ain't to bad of a dancer yerself."

He chuckles "Ah, Elise, what a sweet name. You can call simply call me Valdor if it puts you at ease. I'm so used to formal introductions I sometimes get carried away. So, where are you from Elise?" Dispite his strong grip, he gracefully guides Elise across the fields. He smiles softly

"Ah, now who's too kind?", replied the bard with a mischievous grin. Oirhandir knew his real charm lie in his playing, singing, and storytelling, not his dancing. Although he supposed he danced well enough to get by.

"Scarlet is a lovely name", he continued, "and my heart is glad to know it. Truly, if I could, I would dance all night just to enjoy the pleasure of your company. I have never been to such a -- festival before, and I feel that I've now found a memory of it to treasure for an age. Tell me, Scarlet, what do you know of this festival? Have you been to it before?"

Oirhandir had been glad to have Ingus's caravan to guard at night, just to have something to do. Now he questioned the price of his time...was an evening of freedom really worth 10 crowns? Yet he felt he must honor his obligation, so that his word might mean something stronger than empty talk. A bard knew how cheap words were, and he had no desire to be lumped in with the drunkards and the boasters who could be found drinking cheap ale in forgotten taverns, promising far more than they could deliver.

He began to hope, very fervently, that there would be more dancing the next eve.

"Medibaria, I am from a small community in Medibaria, might I assume you are from Riem?" As she continues through the steps
He nods "Yes, I am. I own a small trading company there, and bear a title that is mostly just an honorable formality. But in many circles, even a formality bears weight."

Scarlet smiles while her ears turn a deep red. "You flatter me too much Mr Oirhandir. I ain't been up here b'fore, but a priest of Halina blessed our plantation this year, an we had a great crop. So I fig'ured I'd get my little old self up here to thank Halina."

"What sort of trade?" Elise asks

"What bring's you here?"

"Ah, so fortune has favored us both", came Oirhandir's reply. He paused for a moment. The gods did work in such strange ways. Had not Phyrah brought him coin at the dragon's lair, then brought him to this place? Or had Halina brought him here? Or had she merely arranged for Scarlet's presence and had Phyrah had done the rest? It mattered not; what mattered was the here and now of the dance, and the exquisite creature just inches away in his arms.

"So, Scarlet", he continued, "most of my life has been spent in a great forest, and on the sea after that. I know not of plantations such as the one where you live. Is it a pleasant place, one that restores your spirit when you hear the wind rustling through the leaves?"

OOC:[sblock]Um, so should I change my character's name to Rhett? ;) [/sblock]

"Mostly cloth and clothing. Though I do deal with other materials on occasion. I came here as I always do, to sell my wares, perhaps trade with other merchants for hard to find cloth, and perhaps even get a few ideas. I always liked to work with colors."

"How about yourself? What do you normaly do and how did you find yourself here at the festival?"
