"I'd love to help out" After the dance Elise inquires as to his location at the festival, excuses herself and sits down in the seat next to Lasair, all smiles

OOC: [sblock] Watch it, I'm about one misplaced comment away from a homicidal rage:p [/sblock]
"I'm in the south fields, accross from one of the Elven scroll merchants." He says. "I look forward to seeing you there."

The song ends and another slow song begins, but it appears you have had enough for the eve and excuse yourself. Before you can turn to leave, he takes your right hand, and kisses the back of it softly. "Till tomorow then Elise." He smiles and walks off, towards one of the tables, but you eventualy loose him in the crowd.

"So, Mr. Oirhandir, what brings you to the festival? Traveling from your great forest and accross the sea seems a bit much for a festival, even one as large as this one."
"Oh, no, no", he chuckled, "a short week ago, I'd never heard of this festival, let alone had plans to visit it." He looked away, his eyes seemingly fixed on some distant object. "Strange sometimes, how coincidences seem to just work out somehow." He caught her gaze once again. "No, I had just finished a task for a wealthy man in Orussus, and was looking for similar work, when I met a merchant in want of guards for his caravan. Short fellow, you know, a dwarf, a jeweler, armorer and weaponsmith. Anyway, I agreed to help guard his wagons for the trip from Orussus to here and back. I'll have to be getting back in a little bit, since I take a turn keeping an eye on things at night. But I'm free during the day, and Scarlet, I'd dearly love to see you again. Might I ask where I should look for you, if you would favor me with your company again?"

The dance had been the highlight of the journey so far, but the moment of truth was at hand. Oirhandir yearned to know if her feelings ran beyond the politeness one would show to a stranger...perhaps even to the beginings of the slow, steady dance that was elven courtship.

Bront: [sblock]Enough to get their attention; not too violent, but none too softly, either - I want them to know that I definitely stumbled into them, though hopefully not on purpose. Also, as a sidenote, has Troi overheard anyone using Gnomish to communicate? He did wander around for awhile before the dancing and whatnot started, so he might have a feel for what languages are used commonly. Essentially, I'm just trying to figure out if Troi uses Gnomish to talk to the gnomes in a "private" conversation, if anyone nearby could overhear and understand.[/sblock]

"Umm, I'm fine. I'm just not so used to this place...this dancing...is all. Come to think of it, the entire concept of this festival would be foreign to my people..." Lasair muses, "I probably should have just stayed with the wagons again, Elise..."

Elise remains silent for a moment then in a low voice "You did well, I'm glad you came." she smiles gently "We could go back to the wagons if you'd like."

"I don't know...I don't want to spoil your fun, though, Elise...I can stay here if I need to, or I can go back alone if you want to dance--you seem to have met a fine man from what I could see," Lasair smiles, "Is he interested in you?"

"I hope so, he's a clothing designer, and asked for my help tommorrow evening" *sigh* "I'm through for tonight, looks like the band will be playing nothing but slow songs"

"You would prefer a song with a faster beat? Hmm...is there any special reason for this in this culture that I should know? If you like, I can go ask them to play you a faster song. I bet they would listen to me."

"Slow songs are more for...lovers and other very intimate people or those that want to get to know each other better. It alway feels more uptight than I'd prefer." Elise laughs "Yes, I'm sure they would change for you, though everyone else seems to be enjoying it, so it can stay like this"
