Yes, the Brownie was already updated to 3.5 in some obscure WotC article.

If you're looking for an established list of all fey, including new ones, the Fey Feature articles provided a few new ones.

Don't forget the Killoren in Races of the Wild and the Dusklings in Magic of Incarnum.

For reference, here are the Fey creatures that I've seen printed/reprinted in 3rd Edition D&D. Note that I do not have any 3.5 materials except for some issues of Dragon and Dungeon; the Brownie was in an issue sometime from the past year or two. Dunno if Fiend Folio is 3.5, or inbetween 3.0 and 3.5 like Savage Species was.

Monster Compendium: Monsters Of Faerun
Hybsil

Previous edition fey and fey-like creatures

The Celts Campaign Sourcebook included fachans, phoukas, water horses, and water leapers. Whether they're all fey is a matter of opinion, I guess.

The Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume One included:

Faerie, Petty (Squeaker, Stwinger)
Feystag
Nightshade ("elemental spirits of poisonous plants")
Noran ("distant relatives of the treant"). Norans, like treants, would be classified as plants, but they're still part of the family of nature spirits that includes dryads and hamadryads. Creature type is a matter of game statistics, not in-game lore.
Tatalla (I have no idea what they are, but they're possibly fey - their description suggest they're miniature versions of the "ogre giants" of the Al-Qadim setting, which means they might actually be the only known example of tiny giants).
Tree, Dark (using the treant theory)

Mystara Monstrous Compendium Appendix:

Actaeon
Chevall (a shapeshifting centaur that acts as a protector of horses; could conceivably be classified as fey)
Coltpixy (I think these were originally in Tall Tales of the Wee Folk)
Drake, Mystaran (faerie creatures according to Tall Tales of the Wee Folk, particularly the wooddrake)
Imps (wood, garden, bog) - these creatures are descended from degenerate fey, though they lack spell-like abilities
Shargugh (most definitely)

Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume Two:

Boggle (conceivably; more likely aberrations)
Brownie, Dobie
Brownie, Quickling
Cat, Great - Cath Shee (faerie cat)
Dog, Bog Hound (Bog Hound, Moor Hound)
Kholiathra (spirits who keep watch on elven lands; more likely, they're of the deathless type, but I'm including them on this list for completeness)
Sprite, Seelie Faerie
Sprite, Unseelie Faerie

Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume Three:

Dryad, Hamadryad
Faerie, Faerie Fiddler
Faerie, Petty - Bramble
Faerie, Petty - Gorse
Hag, Bheur (I think these are in Unapproachable East? And probably not fey. Oh well)
Hybsil
Spirit, Forest - Uthraki
Spirit, Forest - Wood Man
Spirit, Ice - Orglash (maybe elementals instead)
Spirit, Rock - Thomil (maybe elementals instead)

Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume Four:

Dream Stalker (Outsider? Aberration? Undead?)
Firestar (probably aberrations like will o'wisps, or else lightning quasielementals)
Nymph, Grain
Nymph, Unseelie

From Shaman (all the spirits in this book should be considered fey, as they're all native to the Material plane and mostly associated with nature - outsider is another possibility, since they're made from mortal belief, some of them are too traditionally fey not to be classified as such):

Ancestors
Bloodspirit
Bogeyman, Greater & Lesser
Fenette
Fetish Spirits
Ghost Packs
Great Spirits
Guardian Spirits
Hero Spirits
Nemesis Spirits
Rogue Hero
Sith
Spirits, Mnor (Apparitions, Breathstealer, Forgotten Ancestors, Grave Spirits)
Strigloi
Totem Spirit

Other spirit types, like hearth spirits and might-have-beens, are described in Chapter Five.

Monstrous Compendium Kara-Tur Appendix (most of these are in 3e Oriental Adventures):

Bajang
Bisan
Ikiryo (or outsider)
Kala (or giant)
Memedi (or outsider)
Nat
P'oh
P'oh, Gohei
Shan Sao (or humanoid)
Spirit, Nature
Spirit, Stone (or outsider)
Yuki-on-na

The Blood Spawn Monstrous Compendium for Birthright remains one of the best D&D fey resources ever. On par with Tall Tales of the Wee Folk, I think.

Fey in that book include: Changeling (faerie), cwn annwn (probably), seelie faerie, unseelie faerie, seemer, seeming walker, and the Wild Hunt (mostly).

wasn't the Jermaline(Jinxkin) /sp?/ in the Fiend Folio too? - I thought they were fey as well? (or do I have to tighten that loose screw again?)

they might be fey - i'll have to consider that. :)

Echohawk said:
Has the vanilla Sprite, from the Monstrous Manual (and many other sources) appeared anywhere official? The 3.5 Monster Manual covers the Nixie, Pixie and Grig, but not "Sprite, Common" ;)

thanks for the reminder! i know it was in the original ToH (thanks, largely, to my lobbying). it will be a contender for the Dragon article pitch, now. :)

The Dragon #33 (January 1980)
Frosts

Dragon #54 (October 1981)
Boggart

can't believe i forgot the frost! is that boggart different than the one which later appeared in the 1E MM2? i think it might have been, but i'm not sure.

Echohawk said:
The brownie has been updated on the WotC web site, here.

thanks, i'll keep that in mind. :) i don't know if Dragon will accept our different take on brownie stats, but i can always ask.

I happen to have a folder full of loose 2e fey-related monster sheets. I don't remember why; they've been there for years.

Forgotten Realms Appendix II - Firetail ("A frolicsome fey creature of living flame")
Forgotten Realms Appendix II - Lhiannan Shee
MC 4 - Sprite (Atomie, Grig, Sea Sprite)

i think the firetail is more of an elemental than a fey, but i can look into it. likewise, i think the lhiannan shee is more of an undead, despite the name. the sea sprite could probably use an update (also mentioned by diaglo above).

Ripzerai said:
The substance that makes up the folder itself is D&D Creature Crucible I: Tall Tales of the Wee Folk.

It included the following sylvan creatures as player characters in basic D&D:

Brownie
Centaur (not fey)
Dryad
Faun (a renamed satyr)
Hsiao(not fey)
Leprechaun
Pixie
Pooka
Sidhe
Sprite
Treant (related to dryads and fauns)
Wood Imp (a degenerate fey race)
Woodrake (explicitly a type of fairy)

cool, i'll have a look at that book, thanks. :)

thanks to you both! i wanted to compile a list of those as well, but i was going to get to that later. you saved me some time. ;)
