First Post
A while back, I learned that I could spend a lot less time typing up unnecessarily long posts on forums if I started making use of ignore lists. And it helps a fair bit. But given that not everyone ignores the same people, I end up coming across posts by people I haven't written off as problematic quoting posts that I would've otherwise avoided. So I still end up sifting through arguments (or rather, half-arguments) that I'd really rather not have to deal with.
And so, tired of trying to juke around the bickering and inspired by my favoritest Firefox extension ever, I have to ask... how complicated would it be to put together a Firefox extension or Greasemonkey script to remove posts which include quotations of "undesirables?" I imagine that pulling names directly from an ENWorld profile would be unnecessarily complicated -- I can't imagine anybody has more than a handful of people on their lists -- so it'd pretty much just boil down to storing a few names, finding quotes of them when the site is an ENWorld URL, and hiding the corresponding post.
It seems simple enough, but then, I've got no experience with web code or scripting languages in general. I'll see what I can reverse engineer from vaguely-similar extensions, but if someone knows how to crank this out in a jiffy, I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks much.
