If that's your take on rage I don't think you are playing barbarians enough. Resistance makes barbarians a tanking god, I have routinely seen barbarian players throw themselves into the pits of hell and survive things they had no business surviving. I am continuously surprised at how bad the barb might look on paper, but in play are one of the best classes, I have never had a player play one and been disappointed.Rage? A minor damage boost and resistance to damage for a few combats a day?

And pretty much all of them can be solved with either 'add a reasonable amount of Ki or 'subclass where you get to draw rabbits and snails beating on knights'.We are in one thread complaining about fighters. I can find dozens of threads about monks.
Google "the problem with fighters 5e" and you'll get plenty of sources from all over the internet. I've only gotten back into things in the last few months, so most of them don't even have me in them.We are in one thread complaining about fighters. I can find dozens of threads about monks.
We should have both. The core issue is that martial classes are glorified weed wackers instead of skilled combatants
Mostly because they are driven down the throat of every new player because we, as a gaming culture hate new players.Champion is the most popular sub-class.
How about:We should have both.
Some people like to play a weed wacker. And we should have a class for them to play.
Champion is the most popular sub-class.
Having 3 different colors of weed wackers is not needed though.
Fighter- simple
Barbarian- moderate
Monk- complex
Do you have any data on that?Mostly because they are driven down the throat of every new player because we, as a gaming culture hate new players.
