And let's not forget the Ranger/Rogue. A lot of the skills stack, good fort and awesome reflex saves, favored enemy with sneak attack using TWF, and both classes tend to like light armor.

Yeah this is more what i had in mind. I was thinking elf for the class because, well, I just think Elves make great thieves (Maybe not in a powergamer sense but i don't care about that) When i think of a Elven figther i think more of a Ranger then a straigh up fighter, ESPECIALLY since 3.5 allows you to pick wither Archery or two weapon styles. Combine the pros of the Ranger with a few levels of Rogue for Skills, Sneak Attack and evation and i think i have a winner.
