Figurine of wondrous power: silver raven range?

Voadam

Legend
How far away can a silver raven go? How far can a raven fly in a day?

Silver Raven: This silver figurine turns into a raven on command (but it retains its metallic consistency, which gives it hardness 10). Another command sends it off into the air, bearing a message just like a creature affected by an animal messenger spell. If not commanded to carry a message, the raven obeys the commands of its owner, although it has no special powers or telepathic abilities. It can maintain its nonfigurine status for only 24 hours per week, but the duration need not be continuous.
Faint enchantment and transmutation; CL 6th; Craft Wondrous Item, animal messenger, animate objects; Price 3,800 gp.

Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]

Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One Tiny animal
Duration: One day/level
Saving Throw: None; see text
Spell Resistance: Yes
You compel a Tiny animal to go to a spot you designate. The most common use for this spell is to get an animal to carry a message to your allies. The animal cannot be one tamed or trained by someone else, including such creatures as familiars and animal companions.
Using some type of food desirable to the animal as a lure, you call the animal to you. It advances and awaits your bidding. You can mentally impress on the animal a certain place well known to you or an obvious landmark. The directions must be simple, because the animal depends on your knowledge and can’t find a destination on its own. You can attach some small item or note to the messenger. The animal then goes to the designated location and waits there until the duration of the spell expires, whereupon it resumes its normal activities.
During this period of waiting, the messenger allows others to approach it and remove any scroll or token it carries. The intended recipient gains no special ability to communicate with the animal or read any attached message (if it’s written in a language he or she doesn’t know, for example).
Material Component: A morsel of food the animal likes.

The PH and SRD have numbers for overland movement. A normal creature with speed 40' can cover 32 miles in one eight-hour day of travel.

A construct with no Constitution score can travel much further in a day because it does not need to rest. If the raven counts as a construct, it can Hustle (double move) for long periods, and need not stop after 8 hours; that would let it cover 192 miles over its 24 hours of animation.

I'm not sure whether the raven counts as a construct, though.

The distance it can go is theoretically unlimited, as you could certainly teleport the raven after activating it.

As far as a normal raven, it has a flight speed of 40'.

This translates into a range of 32 miles per day (8 hours of flight).

However, this assumes that the raven does not push itself. Since it may hustle for a single hour at no penalty, it can reach 36 miles in a single day.

It can push itself for an additional hour, and reach 40 miles, but this will deal 1 point of nonlethal damage to the raven. Since it only has 1 hit point, it would become immediately disabled and fatigued. This, therefore, is not an option.

Alternatively, it can attempt a forced march. This will allow it to fly for more than 8 hours in a given day. An additional hour of flying requires a Fort save of DC 12 (which the raven will likely make; Fort: +2), and will result in a distance traveled of 40 miles.

The next hour requires a DC 14 Fort save, which the raven is less likely to make. It may succeed, however, so we'll say that the raven does and can fly one additional hour. This brings the total up to 10 hours of flight, and a distance covered of 44 miles.

The next saving throw is one the raven will probably fail, so at this point it stops, seeking shelter for the night. It rests for 8 hours, bringing us up to 18 total hours.

The raven starts by hustling its first hour of the new day, covering 8 miles, for a total of 52 miles covered in 19 hours.

It spends the next 5 hours moving normally, covering an additional 20 miles. We thus reach 24 hours since the raven was sent on its way, and a total of 72 miles. Here, the magic of the figurine fades. The raven turns back into a silver statuette (probably with the message still attached). If it hasn't reached its goal by now, the original sender is out of luck.
