FILM: National Treasure

I'm quite the Ebert fan, but as someone else mentioned, it's because I've read enough of his reviews of films I've seen that I pretty much understand his taste and so can figure out how what he says applies to me.

And BTW, he likes lots of popcorn movies. He just doesn't tend to like the crappier ones.

I also know that I like sci-fi and fantasy for it's own sake, something that's not true of Ebert. As such if he gives an sf/f film one or two stars, odds are that I'll enjoy it about one star more (making it a 2 or 3 star film, out of 4). However if he gives an sf/f film 3 or 4 stars, I'll probably end up rating it the same.

That kind of thing. Find a critic (reviewer) who seems intelligent and who you can trust (can't be bought), and then get to know that person. Over time you'll have a really useful guide for new films.

I saw it tonight. I thought it was good. I thought it would have made a good gothic earth game, or something for a modern d20 game. Yea, it could have been better, but I can't complain.
