Dragoon knights are right off the bat. Yes, Kain may have been a Dragoon and had high status, but Sir Fratly enjoyed high status too. Freya did not. And she was a dragoon knight.

There were mention of other dragoon knights but we never did see any.

As with the jump, they gain benefits of charge (as if mounted). PLUS, they gain a magical weapon they can increase.

An Improved Critical +5 Spear of Jumping with +5d4 could easily do ... 35 x 2 (with a 14 strength of course) points of damage. that doesnt include critical ... which could be 17 - 20 and double or even tripple the damage

let me see if I understand leap right

Like you said its basicaly a charge except:

it doesn't draw attacks of oppurtunity from non-targets

and you get bonus damage

but you draw an attack of opportunity from the target

and you need ten feet vertically

Wouldn't the dragoon need to make a jump check?
also doubling the damage might be a bit much at least at first level. Weapon specialization is a powerful feat which really should only be open to fighters and PrC's if instead at like 5th or 6th level they got weapon specialization in their spear or lance and only once that might be more balanced than letting them be basically bouncy fighter/rouges.

and if you have Sword and Fist or the December 2003 issue of Dragon their is a feat called power lunge that should be on the bonus feat list. Also look at power critical from masters of the wild.

i will look at my splatbooks, but, when i started this i was using core books only.

And yes, when leaping, you NEED to make a jump check.

And weapons specialization comes in at 6th level i believe. Since they are only proficient with spears and spear like weapons (and no others), they cannot take specialization for anything else

Look at the top page for my Dragoon. But also I am working on a spear the spends the dragoon up and up. Also with your version a Thri-Keen would KICK SOME ASS!!blue
