How do I use Lulu's trigger?

All you have to do is rotate the right (I think right) analog stick in a circle as many times as you can. I find it easier to simply put down the controller and do, though my being left-handed didn't help either. 
Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, in which case, feel free to yell and scream at me...
