That said, I hope it's more FIENDS, and less CRAPPY MONSTERS FROM CHAINMAIL. There were a few in MM2, and that was a few too much.

The stone spikes, the automatons, and the abyssal demons... Any others ? Those are rather OK I think.

I'm realy afraid about the 3.5 cover, now...

I don't like this "doom" (the videogame) look. The MM2 was hideous, this one is worst.
The FR line is really better.

This reminds me more of the Hades town from Heroes of Might & Magic 3. Beside, I think it's "less worse" than the MM2 (if the MM2 hadn't had that maw thingie, it would have been better).

The felldrakes, too, but apart from that... not really a problem IMHO.

I agree with you on this cover. Did WotC fire their graphic designers with all their other talent? They could have slapped the original Fiend Folio cover back on and it would have looked classier.

Tough call. The original FF was amateurishly ugly, the new cover is professionally ugly.
