Final words...

[Autumn]

Kae, after a couple of big mouthfuls, soon finds herself regretting her bravado in ordering the Dwarven style noodles. Her eyes start to water, and her sinuses are feeling like they've been smoothed off with sandpaper.

"Y...yes," she manages to gasp as her face slowly turns beetroot red. "Good."

OK, we tried to get Ambra enough.

Zook, you notice the kukris are gone.
Veyk, you don't notice any kukris.

You pass through the line, through the guards, through the lobby, and into the main body of the library itself. The reference desk and circulation desk go past as you ascend to the fourth floor of the library.

Two students are still team-drafting a paper.
Somebody's in a study carrel, looking blearily at an atlas.
A veiled woman is putting away books from a study table.

The study table the football players were sitting at.
The books they had taken from the shelves.

" I haven't seen anyone like those guys you mentioned, Zook. How much further to the section they've staked out? "

 

[Moggthegob]

Zook shakes his head "I dont know. Maybe they are onto my plan. That veiled woman is putting away books. Maybe they left the one we need or they already have it. I did see those kukris missing. If so we may have lost them." Zook goes and begins inspectingthe books the veiled woman is putting away.

The woman looks over at Zook...well, at least her head turns towards him.
Clasping her hands together, she half bows to him respectfully.

"May I assist you?"

 

[Moggthegob]

Zook stands up strait," Yes, madam I do require assistance. I am looking for the book under the call number VI 459 L4. I require it in a bit of research I am performing. I suspect those football payers that were here earlier were using it but they were using it and I feared it may come to fisticuffs so I decided to come back later."

The woman bows again, very low, to Zook. As the veil slips away from her face, Zook can see her face has been tattooed to resemble a skull.
"I have not seen this book. Pray tell, is it on the table?"

 

[Moggthegob]

Zook crinkles his nose in frustration " No I do not believe so I have checked once already. I believe some football players were looking at it earlier."

OOC: can I get some sort of knowledge check to identify the if the skull is some sort of symbol.

Zook, the skull-face tattoo is a popular Aereni motif...for people with a high pain tolerance.

Okayy, back in the saddle.

In our last episode of "Final Words", Zook the archivist and Veyk the changeling had entered the library in search of a book possibly defended by football players.
Kae the warlock and Rethlin the cleric were eating noodles.
Ambra the psion had completely disappeared.

When Zook and Veyk reached the place where the football players had been, they found the football players were gone. Instead, a mysterious veiled woman bearing an Aereni skull tattoo was putting away books.
