Final words...

Zook slips quietly away from the table before anything untoward can happen to his book.
Trained professional instinct causes Bharag to lean away from his plate, throwing his face into shadow.
The darkness embraces Kae protectively, welcoming its own back.

The light and the fire, having no-one left to illuminate, shine brightly on Rethlin.
He looks noble and full of divine purpose, just like his picture in the newspaper.

Rethlin and Bharag both see members of the party at the next table go pale in recognition.

Thinking fast, Bhalag speaks up with the most convenient lie on hand, making a jittery laugh addressing the people at the next table. " It's awful I tell you, he gets that look everywhere we go. It's not Rethlin's fault his identical twin brother suffered a knock on the head during their time at the seminary, making him go all crazy. So, why don't we just pretend you aren't so rude and go back to eating, in peace, eh? "

( 16, as always. )

" Yeah, I agree, " says Bhalag, after downing the remainder of his drink. " Let's get out of here and get you something to cover that holier-than-thou mug of yours. "

Kae leans forward out of the shadows with a wide grin on her face. The whole thing with Rethlin is going to take quite a long time before it stops being funny. She finishes off her drink in a long draught and then pushes some coins across the table and stands up.

"That should cover mine. Let's go - Rethlin looked angry. If we don't reign him in then, who knows, he might start calling down the Flame's fury on unsuspecting passersby..."

Bhalag takes the coins and goes to settle the bill with the hostess before heading outside with the others.

He scans the area for a skycoach to wave down, as time is becoming short.
