I don't know about this one. Five years back - maybe. Now?

Nah.

I don't think X-Files aged all that well after the nonsense and Duchovny cast shakeup in the last three years of the show.

In short - I think this ship has sailed and they have better things to do with that production money.

Wasn't the expected date of the alien invasion 2008? I can't recall what was said when Scully and Mulder reunited.

December 22, 2012

The date set for the alien invasion, confirmed by Mulder at the Mount Weather Complex at Bluemont, Virginia. (The Truth)

The end of the calendar of the Mayan people, whose calendar was also incorporated into the calendar of the Aztec, who worshiped lizard gods. (Archeological accounts, setting the moment anywhere between December 21 and 23.)

Remember that the show still aired 2002.

I wonder if a movie had worked at that time, after a nine year run. Perhaps.

Agree. I loved the show at first, even tried to stick with it after Mulder left for a while, but it felt like the franchise was being milked dry rather than to have it end on a high note.

As where I liked it throughout and shall look forward to a new movie.

In fact, I had started to wonder if there would be another one. There had be talk about one way back one, but so much time had passed wihtout hearing anything I started to think there wouldn't be one.
